What and Who We Are

CCWHC is chartered under Maryland law as a 501(c)(4) non-profit corporation operating under by-laws and directed by a board of directors and four officers, who are elected at an annual meeting every May. The officers include a Chairperson and President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

CCWHC is an entirely voluntary grassroots community organization with no paid staff. At the beginning of 2009 its membership totaled nearly 200 families from Western Howard County. It raises funds from solicitation of members and the public and from fund raising community events. Under IRS regulations, donations and fees paid to CCWHC are not tax deductible.

The organization, through it's Board, officers and members, advocates positions on public issues with County, Maryland and federal officials when necessary through personal contact, letters and e-mails.
