CCWHC ALERT!

HELP SAVE THE RURAL WEST BY SAVING THIS DATE: OCT. 17; ATTEND A HARVEST MOON GALA AT HISTORIC OAKDALE; DONATE ITEMS NEEDED FOR SILENT AUCTION

Mark your calendars now. Plan to attend “A Harvest Moon Gala” at historic Oakdale on Ed Warfield Road near Daisy, ancestral home and Maryland’s summer Governor’s Mansion for Edwin Warfield from 1904 to 1908. All proceeds will go to support CCWHC’s efforts to preserve, protect and conserve the rural character of Western Howard County.

Come, enjoy one of Howard County’s most beautiful and historic homes and farms, so well preserved by owners and gala hosts, Ted and Veronica Mariani. Meet other Rural West neighbors, have refreshments and conversation by the pool, dine by candlelight on fine food, tap your toes to music of local Celtic players, play the raffle and bid on outstanding bargains at a silent auction.

Last year’s CCWHC Silent Auction raised nearly $2,000 from bids on wonderful and interesting items and services donated by CCWHC members and local businesses. Please help us make this year’s auction even more successful. If you have something you want to donate, call 410-489-2767.

Gala festivities begin at 6 P.M, dinner at seven, evening casual dress. The minimum contribution is $75 per person. Invitations will be mailed to everyone on our mailing lists, which includes both e-mail and postal addresses. Your response and contribution need to be received no later than October 3. Please respond early because space at Oakdale is limited.

If you don’t want to wait to receive a formal invitation or have not received one by October 3, simply mail your check to CCWHC, P.O. Box 243, Lisbon, MD. Then just come to the Gala; we shall have your name on our acceptance list. Your name is your ticket. If you cannot attend and wish to make a contribution to our cause, please mail your check to P.O. Box 243. No contribution is too small or too large.

For our early planning purposes, we would like to know if you plan to attend by a simple “yes” reply to this e-mail. If you have questions, call 410-489-5147.
